Fishing Report May 2 Upper Keys Sportfishing and Capt Jorge Piñera - Bost Lures

Fishing Report May 2 Upper Keys Sportfishing and Capt Jorge Piñera Offshore

We have not fished offshore after being out of town most of the week but there are reports of blackfin tuna at the humps as well as dolphin(mahi) offshore. The tunas have been taken on small feathers and the dolphin on several different bait presentations. Several weeks ago we took two nice blue marlin and will be pursuing them in the next few days.
 Reefs
We went on a half day charter yesterday with a group from FL and limited on Gag and Red Grouper. The grouper bite is good as well as picking up a few snapper while waiting for the bucket mouths to eat. Yellowtail and mangrove snapper is good on the reefs and patch reefs. A few kings have been caught by at least one charter boat and is surprising they are still around with the warm water. Sailfish has been off and on.

 Flat and Backcountry
On a lone fishing trip today targeting tarpon, bonefish and permit, the bonefish failed to take the bait. Multiple rolling tarpon and good schools of permit provided a great morning of fishing.

Call 305-509-7745 for either offshore or flats charters. "We put you on big fish with fly, light or conventional tackle".
