High Speed Wahoo Trolling in Bimini with Bost Lures
A beautiful morning greeted us for the crossing. I had the pleasure of being invited by a great Miami crew on a 42 Hydrasport. This is one serious fishing machine but with all the comforts. We throttled up the quad 350 Yamahas and were on the way. 2 hours later we arrived in Bimini, quickly cleared customs and were on the way to our preferred location, the Isaacs. Spread consisted of 2 Islander Lures and 3 Bost Lures. The Bost #38, the Bost #80 and the Bost #106. First bait hit not 3 minutes into the troll was a red Islander. The crew of course gave me a little ribbing but that was short lived. All subsequent hits including two missed bites and two cuttoffs came on Bost Lures. Pink, Green and Orange were the hot colors and fish ranged from 25-40 pounds. Can't wait for wahoo sashimi. On the slack tide we did some deep drops and put 8 or so yellow eyes in the box. On the run across we found a frigate and a nice dolphin pounced on the Bost #20 but after a few head shakes he came off. Great trip otherwise!
